LINU envisions a future where some of the most difficult and desperate cases, those that have no hope of finding free representation and no means of payment, can receive our generous grants to pay for crucial immigration legal representation. And for this, we need your help. LINU is now able to accept donations toward our grant fund. This fund will help people in need obtain vital legal representation, which can mean the difference between rebuilding a life in safety, or facing uncertainty, crippling legal costs, or even deportation. As we await the approval of our own tax exempt status, we are able to start fundraising thanks to the fiscal sponsorship offered to LINU by COJECO. COJECO (Council of Jewish Émigré Community Organizations) is the central hub of the Russian-speaking Jewish community in the New York tri-state area. Their mission is to convene and connect the Russian-speaking Jewish community through collaborative leadership, innovative engagement, Jewish education, capacity building, and preservation of heritage.
Under the terms of fiscal sponsorship, COJECO receives tax-deductible donations on behalf of LINU, giving us the opportunity to help those who are in urgent need of legal representation.
